Ferag opens engineering office in Graz

Ferag has opened a new location in Graz in Styria (Austria) – Ferag Engineering GRZ GmbH. This is an engineering office where the Swiss family-owned company is concentrating its expertise as a system integrator and solution designer in one place. “From now on, all countries in the Central Eastern Europe (CEE) Region will be supported and accompanied with the accumulated Ferag know-how when awarding projects,” says Christian Klöckl-Greimel, managing director of Ferag Engineering GRZ GmbH. In addition to Germany and Austria, the countries in the CEE Region include Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, the Netherlands, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, Slovenia, Croatia and Serbia.

Ferag Engineering’s headquarters are located directly in the old town of Graz. “We took a very close look when selecting the location,” Klöckl-Greimel continues. “In addition to the basic requirements, such as a good infrastructure and central location, the cost-effectiveness of the building and a prestigious location, we paid particular attention to the needs of our future employees.” These include very good public transport connections as well as good shopping facilities and restaurants in the immediate vicinity. “The availability of sufficiently qualified employees was also a key factor in choosing the location in Graz,” says Klöckl-Greimel.

“Graz is a geographically advantageous location in the heart of Europe and therefore close to many potential customers,” says the Ferag manager. In addition, the excellent transport links to the highway, railroad lines and the airport as well as the density of industry and commerce play an important role. The presence of leading scientific institutes, colleges and universities was also a decisive aspect. These include, for example, Graz University of Technology and the University of Applied Sciences with their expertise in intralogistics, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering and software development.

With the new location, Ferag will be even more intensive and proactive on the market. “Our aim is to have the right understanding of the customer,” continues Christian Klöckl-Greiml, “and to develop innovative and future-oriented solutions together.” This will enable Ferag to further expand its market position in the Central Europe Region and serve its customers professionally and holistically. He concludes: “In order to meet the high expectations, we are currently looking for qualified specialists, especially in the area of software development. We look forward to interesting discussions and welcome new members to the Ferag family.”
