Atex Global Media has announced the release of generative AI capabilities in its image editor, Matik. Matik is a powerful image tool available to editors using Desk – the multichannel content production system used by news publishers such as National World, GEDI, Mediahuis, Newsday and many more. Matik allows you to easily combine one or more pictures into one and create beautiful mosaics.
Image composition is a powerful way to tell a story and allows editors to enrich their home page slots with creative ideas and more interesting messages. Thanks to the new feature, editors can now write an image description in natural language and let the software handle the rest. Matik will interrogate DALL·E 2, a powerful generative AI model developed by OpenAI, and retrieve the corresponding images based on the description given. The images can then be easily incorporated into Atex’s editorial systems, streamlining the image selection process and allowing for faster and more efficient content creation.
This new feature is a game-changer for media organisations and content creators who need to produce high-quality visual content quickly and efficiently. With Matik’s generative AI capabilities, users can easily find the right image to accompany their content without spending hours searching through stock photo websites or hiring a professional photographer.
“Atex Global Media is committed to staying at the forefront of technology in the media industry and providing its users with the best tools to create engaging and impactful content,” commented Cesare Navarotto, chief product officer at Atex. “The integration of generative AI into Matik is just the latest example of this commitment, and we are excited to see the impact it will have on our users’ workflows.”
